1974: Zinc Alloy's Teenage Dream
By 1974 the initial hysteria of T. Rextasy had begun to cool, but Marc Bolan remained creatively ambitious. The album Zinc Alloy and the Hidden Riders of Tomorrow showcased a more sophisticated, funk-tinged sound and ambitious production. Singles such as “Teenage Dream” kept T. Rex in the public eye, while the band continued to evolve beyond pure glam. This year marked a period of artistic experimentation and personal reflection for Bolan as musical fashions shifted.
