The Slider was reissued in 2016 by Code 90 as part of the label's European reissue programme. Originally released in 1972, the album followed the massive success of Electric Warrior and became one of the defining recordings of the glam rock era.

Featuring hit singles such as "Metal Guru" and "Telegram Sam", the album showcased Marc Bolan and T. Rex at the height of their commercial and creative powers.

Produced by Tony Visconti, The Slider featured the classic T. Rex line-up of Marc Bolan, Steve Currie, Bill Legend and Mickey Finn.

The album combined Bolan's songwriting with Visconti's production approach to create one of the group's best-known and most celebrated releases.

STYLE & THEMES

The Slider is firmly rooted in glam rock, blending powerful electric guitar riffs, driving rhythms and memorable melodies.

Songs such as "Metal Guru", "Baby Strange", "Telegram Sam" and "Ballrooms Of Mars" helped define the sound and image of early-1970s glam rock.
