THE STORY

Get It On ’87 was part of a broader Marc On Wax campaign to reissue and refresh T. Rex material for a new generation. The Dawn and Dusk mixes offered extended and alternate treatments of the classic track, while the CD single format allowed for a wider selection of archive recordings. Although the single did not reach the Top 40, it maintained T. Rex’s presence in the UK charts during the late 1980s and appealed strongly to collectors.

CONTEXT & NOTES

The 1987 remix campaign followed renewed interest in Marc Bolan’s catalogue. The single’s modest chart performance reflected strong fan support but limited mainstream impact. The German edition, featuring Children Of The Revolution, remains a notable collector’s variant.
