THE STORY

The Slider continued T. Rex’s meteoric rise in the glam rock era, showcasing Marc Bolan’s infectious boogie riffs, playful lyrics, and star power. Recorded with producer Tony Visconti, it delivered a string of hits and solidified the band’s sound with Mickey Finn on percussion.

CONTEXT & NOTES

The US release on August 19, 1972, came in a gatefold sleeve (unlike the UK version). A notable copy from the collection of Terry Southern features the gatefold signed and inscribed by both Marc Bolan and Ringo Starr. The album was a major commercial success and remains one of T. Rex’s most beloved releases.
