Newcastle City Hall '72 is a live archive release issued by Solid Gold Records in August 2022. Released to commemorate the fiftieth anniversary of T. Rex's appearance at Newcastle City Hall on 24 June 1972, the album presents a selection of performances captured during the band's summer tour at the height of T. Rex's popularity.

The release was made available as a limited-edition package featuring additional memorabilia and was issued through the Official Marc Bolan Merch Co.

The album contains recordings from T. Rex's concert at Newcastle City Hall on 24 June 1972.

According to the release notes, the source material was recorded on ¼-inch reel tape. Although not professionally recorded, the tapes were preserved as a rare audio document of the group's 1972 summer tour.

The audio was subsequently cleaned and mastered by Anders Peterson at Ghost Sound Mastering & Post in Sweden.
