Truck Off Tour Rehearsals presents rehearsal recordings connected with the T. Rex touring period surrounding Truck On (Tyke) and the band's mid-1970s live activities. Issued by the Official Marc Bolan Merchandise Company, the collection offers a rare glimpse into the working arrangements and preparation sessions undertaken by Marc Bolan and his touring band.

Agora documents a live T. Rex performance recorded for broadcast at the Agora Ballroom in Cleveland, Ohio, on November 11, 1974. Captured during the group's mid-1970s touring period, the recording features Marc Bolan and the contemporary touring line-up performing a selection of classic hits alongside newer material.

Issued by Solid Gold Records in 2024, the album presents highlights from the broadcast recording and offers a snapshot of T. Rex on stage during a period of transition and reinvention. The performances showcase the band's energetic live sound while illustrating the continued popularity of Bolan's catalogue during the latter half of the 1970s.

RECORDING

The material was recorded live at the Agora Ballroom, Cleveland, Ohio, on November 11, 1974 for radio broadcast.

The concert featured Marc Bolan alongside Steve Currie, Gloria Jones, Dino Dines, Mickey Finn and Davy Lutton, capturing the expanded T. Rex line-up in a live environment.

The recordings were later mastered by Anders Peterson and prepared for release as part of the ongoing programme of Marc Bolan archival releases.

STYLE & THEMES

The album combines glam rock with elements of hard rock, soul and rhythm-and-blues that characterised T. Rex's mid-1970s live performances.

The setlist balances major chart hits such as Get It On, Telegram Sam and Jeepster with material from Bolan's contemporary releases including Token Of My Love and Zip Gun Boogie.

The performances reflect the heavier and more expansive live arrangements used by the band during this era.

TRACK-BY-TRACK NOTES

• Jeepster — Extended live performance of one of T. Rex's signature hits.

• Telegram Sam — Concert version of the chart-topping single.

• Token Of My Love — Performance drawn from Bolan's later repertoire.

• Teenage Dream — One of the major centrepieces of the set.

• Zip Gun Boogie — Extended live interpretation of the mid-1970s single.

• Get It On — Concert finale built around the band's best-known hit.
