A new sound made from folk and rock elements heralds the meteoric rise of a duo, T. Rex. Connoisseurs know: It's Marc Bolan and Mikkey Finn (incidentally, not related to

Huckleberry Huckleberry), arguably the most successful group since the Beatles. Marc had already made arrangements in 1967 with a certain Steve Took. Underground in the underground, a largely unknown group, a case for music specialists in small clubs, far removed from the phenomenon called success. Not even a striking name like "Tyrannosaurus Rex" helped. Steve left in '69,

Mickey Finn arrived. And a year later, with "Ride A White Swan," came the big hit. Now simply named "T. Rex," Marc and Mik-key established themselves in international charts with their follow-up singles "Hot Love" and "Get It On." And pretty high up, too. Their new LP "Electric Warrior" will confirm it.

Donovan-like, nasal voice. For live performances, they've recently added some extras: Bill Fyfield wields sticks and brushes, Steve Currie plucks the bass strings. Marc and Mickey sing, while Marc plays lead guitar and Mik-key the bongos. German pop ears, take note!!
