1969: The Warlock Warlord
A magical and prolific year for Marc Bolan and Tyrannosaurus Rex. The band released the album Unicorn — filled with poetic lyrics, mystical imagery, and delicate acoustic folk-rock. Singles such as “"King of the Rumbling Spires"” and “Pewter Suitor” gave the band their first taste of chart success. This was the peak of their hippie-folk phase, with hand-painted album covers, bongo rhythms, and Bolan’s enchanting storytelling creating a unique world.
