The Slider was reissued in the United States in 2019 by Spirit Records and Universal Music Enterprises. Originally released in 1972, the album followed the success of Electric Warrior and represented the commercial and creative peak of T. Rex's glam rock era.

Widely regarded as one of Marc Bolan's finest achievements, the album expanded the band's sound while retaining the distinctive songwriting and energy that had made T. Rex one of the most influential groups of the early 1970s.

RECORDING

The album was recorded at Château d'Hérouville, near Paris, and Rosenberg Studios in Copenhagen.

Produced by Tony Visconti, the sessions brought together Marc Bolan, Steve Currie, Bill Legend and Mickey Finn, alongside vocal contributions from Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman.

STYLE & THEMES

The Slider continued the glamorous, melodic approach established on Electric Warrior while introducing more sophisticated arrangements and stronger orchestral textures.

The album balances hard-driving rock songs with reflective compositions and remains one of the defining releases of the glam rock movement.
