Electric Warrior remains the defining album in the T. Rex catalogue and the record that transformed Marc Bolan into one of the leading figures of the glam rock era. Originally released in 1971, the album achieved major commercial and critical success and helped establish the sound and style that became known worldwide as "T. Rextasy".

This Rhino High Fidelity edition was released as a premium audiophile reissue, created to present the album using high-end mastering, pressing and packaging standards. The release forms part of Rhino's premium reissue programme devoted to classic albums.

Featuring timeless recordings including Bang A Gong (Get It On), Jeepster, Cosmic Dancer and Life's A Gas, the album remains one of the most influential rock releases of the early 1970s.

RECORDING

The original album was recorded at Wally Heider Recording Studio in Los Angeles, Mediasound, Trident Studios and Advision Studios.

Producer Tony Visconti employed a wide range of innovative studio techniques during the sessions, helping to create the album's distinctive sonic character. The recordings featured contributions from core T. Rex members alongside several notable supporting musicians.

For this Rhino High Fidelity release, the album was mastered directly from the original stereo analogue master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio

STYLE & THEMES

Electric Warrior combines glam rock, pop rock, blues influences and acoustic textures into a highly distinctive sound that became a blueprint for the glam movement.

The album balances powerful rock-and-roll performances with poetic lyrics, memorable melodies and imaginative production. Songs such as Bang A Gong (Get It On), Jeepster and Cosmic Dancer continue to define Marc Bolan's legacy and remain among the most celebrated recordings of the era.

The rich production and innovative studio techniques contribute significantly to the record's enduring reputation among musicians, collectors and audiophiles.
