Electric Warrior remains the defining album in the T. Rex catalogue and one of the most influential releases of the glam rock era. Originally issued in 1971, the album established Marc Bolan as one of Britain's leading rock stars and became the record most closely associated with the phenomenon known as "T. Rextasy".

This Rhino High Fidelity Singles Edition expands upon the standard Rhino High Fidelity release by pairing the complete album with two exclusive 7-inch singles containing period non-album material and classic single releases from the Electric Warrior era.

Created as a premium audiophile collector's package, this edition combines the acclaimed Rhino High Fidelity mastering with rare contemporary single recordings drawn from the same period.

RECORDING

The original album sessions took place at Wally Heider Recording Studio in Los Angeles, Mediasound, Trident Studios and Advision Studios.

Producer Tony Visconti utilised a variety of innovative recording techniques, helping establish the distinctive sonic character that made Electric Warrior one of the defining albums of the early 1970s.

For this edition, the album and accompanying singles were cut from the original stereo analogue master tapes by Kevin Gray at Cohearent Audio.

STYLE & THEMES

Electric Warrior blends glam rock, pop rock and blues influences with memorable songwriting and inventive studio production.

The album balances accessible rock-and-roll with rich arrangements and imaginative lyrics. Tracks such as Bang A Gong (Get It On), Jeepster and Cosmic Dancer became cornerstones of the glam rock movement and continue to define Marc Bolan's legacy.

The bonus singles provide additional context for the era, including hit standalone releases and associated B-sides that helped fuel T. Rex's rise to international success.
